{"id":864,"date":"2019-12-12T15:22:37","date_gmt":"2019-12-12T07:22:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jknsarawak.moh.gov.my\/hsibu\/?page_id=864"},"modified":"2019-12-12T15:33:36","modified_gmt":"2019-12-12T07:33:36","slug":"kawalan-infeksi","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jknsarawak.moh.gov.my\/hsibu\/kawalan-infeksi\/","title":{"rendered":"Kawalan Infeksi"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Infection\nControl Unit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To create a conducive and safe\nenvironment for the patients, healthcare workers and visitors in the hospital.<ul><li>To create and promote the awareness on\nhospital acquired infections among the healthcare workers and all hospital\ntrainees through orientation programs and other education activities. <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>To reduce the incidence of hospital\nacquired infection by promoting cost-effective hospital infection control\npractices.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>To reduce the incidence of needle stick\nand sharp injuries in the hospital by promoting good occupational safety\npractices.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Scope of\nServices<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To provide adequate training and\nsupervision to all healthcare workers on issues related to the prevention and\ncontrol of hospital acquired infections.<ul><li>Development and implementation of\ninfection control policies and practices.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>To monitor healthcare workers\u2019\ncompliance to infection control policies and practices.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Conduct of regular environmental audit\nto ensure a safe and healthy environment for patient care.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Surveillance on the following\nparameters:<ul><li>Incidence\nof hospital acquired infections and outbreak.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Point\nPrevalence survey (6 monthly).<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Incidence\nof surgical wound infection (clean and clean contaminated wounds)<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Multi-resistant\norganism (MRO) infection<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Methicilin-resistant\nStaphylococcus aureus(MRSA) infection<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Carbapenem-resistant\nEnterobacteriaceae (CRE) infection<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Vancomycin-resistant\nEnterococcus (VRE) infection<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Hepatitis B program &#8211; assist the OSHA\nUnit in screening and immunization for all healthcare workers.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>To promote awareness on needle and\nsharp injuries among the healthcare workers.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>To maintain a registry of the following\noccupational hazards in the hospital:-<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Exposure to blood and body fluids.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Needle-stick and sharps injury\n(Occupational Health Unit \/ Infection Control Unit).<\/li><li>To provide advice and training to\nhealthcare workers from other district hospitals, polyclinics and private\nmedical centers.<\/li><li>To provide training to all trainees\n(medical and nursing students) on issues related to the prevention and control\nof hospital acquired infections<\/li><\/ul>\n ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Infection Control Unit Objectives: To create a conducive and safe environment for the patients, healthcare workers and visitors in the hospital.
