There are 18 beds inclusive of 2 HDU beds\nfor Neuro cases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neurosurgery (Female) is sharing\na ward with Female Surgical with 8 beds allocated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neurosurgery\n(Paed) cases will be admitted to Paed Surgical Ward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Objectives<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To provide timely neurosurgical and spine\nservices for both emergency and elective cases in Central Zone Sarawak<\/li><li>To provide outpatient clinic services for\ncontinuation of follow up in Central Zone<\/li><li>To prepare and stabilize patients for referral\nto the Neurosurgery Department in Sarawak General Hospital whenever indicated.<\/li><li>To provide continuation of patient care after\ndischarge from other Neurosurgical centers all over the country.<\/li><li>To provide 2 monthly visiting clinics to\nHospital Kapit for outpatient follow up, in order to ease financial constraints\nof patients<\/li><li>To provide a formal training platform for Medical Officers interested\nin pursuing Neurosurgery as a specialty<\/li><li>To encourage the Nursing staff for further self-development and\nobtain post basic training in Neurosurgery<\/li><li>To organize a 2-yearly Basic Neurosurgery Update for Central Zone\nSarawak with special attention to peripheral district staffs in order to\nimprove neighbouring services<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Scope of Services<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Inpatient Services<ul><li>Elective and emergency\nsurgeries<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Referrals from district\nhospitals<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Referrals from other\ndisciplines <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Nursing care:\nrehabilitation and wound care<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Palliative care<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Outpatient Services<\/li><li>Neurosurgery OPD<\/li><li>Ambulatory Surgery <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Facilitate surgical\ntraining for KKM junior staffs:<ul><li>House Officers UD 41<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Medical assistants<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Nursing students<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Facilitate surgical\ntraining for medical colleges and nursing colleges:<ul><li>UNIMAS medical students<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Segi Medical College\nmedical and nursing students<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>ITA College nursing\nstudents<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>&nbsp;KPSL nursing students<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Neurosurgery Introduction Neurosurgery (Male) Ward is temporarily located at EENT ward since 11th September 2013, sharing the ward with ENT and Ophthalmology ward.
