Out-patient consultation\nand clinic procedures will be done in the specialist clinic which well-equipped\nwith four consultation rooms, one mini operation theatre, and one procedure room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In-patient care will be provided\nin EENT Ward and is shared with Opthalmology Department and Neurosurgical\nDepartment (4 beds for male patients, 4 beds for female patients, 4 beds for\nchemo therapy).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ENT Department in Sibu Hospital\nalso provides polysomography (level 1 sleep study) service which is done in the\nSleep Lab in EENT ward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Audiology and Speech Language\nTherapy services are run by respective unit in ENT Specialist Clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Objectives<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To provide professional and up-to-date\nmanagement for ENT conditions to population of Sibu and also central zone of\nSarawak.<\/li><li>To improve the quality of life for ENT patients.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Scope of Services<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Out-patient and in-patient care for patient with\nENT condition (s)<ul><li>Quality assurance, clinical and health system\nresearch in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Training of doctors (new specialist and medical\nofficers) and medical staff (including assistant medical officers and nurses)\nin ENT discipline and to provide advancement in their careers.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Speech and\nLanguage therapy: Conduct specific screening and assessment tests, determine\ndiagnosis and intervention programs and provide follow-up care services for\nboth in and out-patient patients with communication and ingestion disorders.<\/li><li>Audiology: <ul><li>Prevention and screening for hearing loss.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Hearing assessment.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Selection, fitting and management of\namplification system including: <ul><li>Hearing aids, <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Ear implant including cochlear implant, middle\near implant, Bone Anchored Hearing Aid, Auditory Brainstem Implant.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Assistive Listening Device<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Vestibular assessment and management.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Tinnitus assessment and management.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Audiological assessment and management for\npatient with Auditory Neuropathy, Central Processing Disorder.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Occupational assessment and management.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Prepare medical report.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Otorhinolaryngology Introduction Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) service in Sibu Hospital is based at the ENT Specialist Clinic No. 46 which is located in the lower ground floor, Specialist Clinic Block A.
