NOTIFICATION OF INFECTIOUS DISEASE – SARAWAK GENERAL HOSPITAL
1.1 HOSPITAL NOTIFICATION POLICY
The infectious disease policy of Sarawak General Hospital is parallel with Infectious Disease Act
1988 (Amendment 2020) (Act 342) and government policies as per Case Definitions For Infectious Disease in Malaysia by Disease Control Division of Ministry of Health Malaysia (3 rd Edition, January 2017)

Definitions
Suspected Case | Should notify regardless sample is pending/ delayed OR ready |
Suspected Case* | Should have at least one positive laboratory result via any rapid test (NS1/IGM/IGG), Combo, DVSS, Flavi, MRDT |
Confirmed Case | Should have at least ≥ one positive laboratory result indicate isolation of organism |
