INTRODUCTION
The Radiology Department provides imaging services by producing diagnostic-quality images used to diagnose disease pathologies through various methods. The methods used include X-ray sources, sound waves (ultrasound), and magnetic energy waves (MRI).
These services are provided to outpatients, inpatients, day-care patients, and patients from the Emergency Department. In addition, services are also offered to patients from health clinics in the Miri area and hospitals within the Northern Zone Cluster. The department is operated by qualified personnel such as radiologists, medical officers, X-ray technicians, and other support staff.
OBJECTIVES
- To provide appropriate, effective and efficient diagnostic and interventional services, utilising up-to-date technology, by a dedicated team of trained personnel.
- To adhere to relevant laws, regulations, standards and guidelines to ensure safety of patients, public staff and the facility.
- To promote continuous professional development, quality improvement activities and research.

Operating Hours Block A:
Monday – Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (BREAK: 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (BREAK: 11:45 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.)
After office hours: Emergency cases and inpatients only
