INTRODUCTION
Pharmacy department consists of 6 main functional sub units to serve the various clients within the hospital. These functional units are namely Out-Patient Pharmacy, In-Patient Pharmacy, Production Pharmacy, Drug Information Service, Logistics Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy.
SCOPE OF SERVICE
- The formulation and manufacture of preparations, mixture, lotions, creams, ointments, eye, ear and nose preparations are all in the accordance with “Good Manufacturing Practice” as far as possible.
- Dispensing services to out-patients from Specialist’s Clinic, E & T Department and discharged patients from the wards.
- The supply of drugs to all inpatients.
- Supply of Dangerous Drugs and Psychotropic Drugs in the hospital.
- Patient counseling and health education services for both in-patients and out-patients.
- The provision of a therapeutic drug monitoring service for selected drugs.
- Provision of Drug Information Service to other health care professionals.
- Clinical pharmacy- bedside education and intervention of prescription in ward.
